An iconic symbol of the delicious winter foods of Kaga no Kuni. Crab fishing season lasts from around November 6 to March 20 each year, and fresh, delicious Kano Gani crabs are brought ashore at Hashidate Port, Kanazawa Port, and other fishing ports in the area.
The female crabs, known locally as Kobako Gani crabs, may be small, but they’re packed with flavorful eggs.
